Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is a highly effective therapy which can be used to prevent and treat muscle tightness or injuries, pain, and soreness. It is commonly used to treat chronic muscular-skeletal imbalances, strains, and sprains. Treatment involves the application of various massage techniques designed to treat both deep and superficial tissues as well as the facia that surrounds all our muscles and organs. Treatment techniques including trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and muscle energy techniques.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is used to alleviate the stress and tension which can build up in the body’s soft tissues during exercise. Where minor injuries and lesions occur due to overexertion and/or overuse, massage can break them down quickly and effectively. Above all, it can help prevent those niggling injuries that can inhibit optimum muscle function and performance, whether you are a professional athlete, hardened gym user or a once a week exerciser. This treatment is not just for avid sports person, everyone can benefit from sports massage, including people in physically demanding jobs and those who may be sat at a desk all day. Some jobs create postural stress which may produce many similar signs and/or symptoms to sports injuries. The aim of sports massage is to optimise your performance whilst lessening the potential injury risk and minimise post event injuries.

It is advisable to consult a doctor before receiving a massage for specific conditions which may not be related to soft tissue.

CORE Fascial Release

CORE Fascial Release, work is designed to Coax, Order and Restore Energy to the human body, mind and core, one person at a time. Practitioners of this CORE work are dedicated to unwinding fascial restrictions and the holding of old trauma. This can be physical, mental, emotional, chemical or energetic trauma.

Old trauma can be stored in the body and inhibit freedom and movement which causes pain, illness or further lack of movement. As we work with clients, we ask them to create freedom, movement, breath, and health in their systems. Core Bodywork is done with hands and head but more importantly with heart.

Though we believe symptoms only point us to the problem and don't necessarily show where it's located. People come for many reasons: pain or lack of movement, a desire to enhance performance or be more in touch with their bodymindcore, and as an adjunct to other therapies. We suggest trying a session to see if this bodywork makes sense to you.

All CORE Fascial Release treatments are carried out through clothing. We recommend that you wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing for the session.

What to expect during your session?

At your first appointment a case history will be taken to discuss any injuries or problems you may have. Next an assessment of the problem will then be taken which may involve a postural assessment so please wear appropriate underwear, Shorts or loose-fitting clothing. Mobility of the injury or problem area will also be checked.

The treatment will usually last one hour (treatment times may vary after your first session). Most of the treatment is done with you lying on a massage table, sometimes work will be done with you seated, depending on the problem or area being massaged.

The day after a sports massage you may experience some soreness, so make sure your massage is at least 24 hours before any important sporting activities. Your modesty will always be respected during the treatment and time will be left at the end to discuss any findings and follow up treatments.
